Elizabeth Nordhoff, passed away Feb. 8, 2020

Elizabeth Nordhoff from Watervliet passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 8, 2020, after a brief illness.

The wife of Laurence B. Nordhoff and devoted mother, she was also a respected member of the local Watervliet business community as proprietor of Trade Winds Antiques and Beads from 1988-2013. She was known for her bright smile, compassion and an ability to find something good in everyone.

She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Laurence B. Nordhoff of Watervliet; her children: James Alan Nordhoff of Gobles, Kimberly (Michael) Ballard of Coloma, David Laurence Nordhoff of Corpus Christy, Texas, and Christopher Lee Nordhoff of Lake Forest, Ill.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Curtis Brink of Orlando, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willis R. (Clara) Brink and Bernice Cothrell; her sister, Florence Brink Sherrod; and her infant son, Mark Jonathan Nordhoff (1970-1971).

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at New Apostolic Church, 7521 Paw Paw Ave., Watervliet.
