Carolyn Elizabeth Bush Obituary

Carolyn Elizabeth Bush, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love those fortunate enough to know her will forever cherish. She was born on October 8, 1944, to Louis and Gladys (Bilton) Perkins in Salinas, California. She married her high school sweetheart, Crag Harold Bush, on June 20, 1964. They spent 56 years together before his passing in December of 2020.

Carolyn’s story began in California, where she was born while her father was serving in the Army in WWII. The family eventually made their journey across the nation back to Benton Harbor, MI, where she would go on to graduate from Benton Harbor High School and meet her soulmate, Crag Bush. Together, they started their family in Kentwood, MI and had 3 children. Carolyn loved to experience new things and travel whenever she could. In fact, Crag and Carolyn spent their Golden Anniversary traveling across Europe with her daughter Cindy and family. Carolyn truly had the biggest heart that anyone could ever have. No one would ever be considered a stranger to Carolyn, as she took anyone in and treated them as family. She shined so brightly wherever life took her and was always the most colorful person in the room. Her kindness and love for others will forever be remembered as her greatest attributes. Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Cindy (Brian) Stauffer, Chad Bush, Curt Bush; and her two granddaughters, Madison Stauffer, Jordan (Jonathan) Martinez, and great-granddaughter, Valencia Martinez. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and sister, and her beloved husband, Crag Harold Bush.

To honor her memory, donations in Carolyn’s name can be made out to: Brian Bush Putt for Life 6866 Garden Valley Rd SE. Caledonia, MI 49316.
