Alfred Brady Champion, Jr. of Coloma passed away at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids on Friday, August 20, 2021

A celebration of his life will begin at 1:00 P.M. followed by a memorial service at 1:30 on Saturday, August 28 at the New Freedom Church in Coloma.  Donations in memory of Brady may be made to the family to assist them with expenses.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so at

Brady was born August 11, 1960 in Benton Harbor to Alfred Brady and Opal Lucille (Eaves) Champion, Sr.  He currently owned and operated Aqua Tech Pool & Spa Services in Coloma.  He was very active in the New Freedom Church, playing bass in the praise and worship team along with coaching their softball team.  When he wasn't busy working or doing something at church he would be found talking to one of his many friends or family that he loved dearly.

Brady is survived by his wife Sue whom he married Sept. 2, 1978; his daughter Brooke (Tedd) Roemer of St Joseph; his son Marshall (Ashley) Champion of Coloma; his mother Opal L. (Roger) Whitaker of Brooksville, FL; three brothers, Chuck Motry of Niles, Jeff Motry of Brooksville, FL, Roger (Shannan) Whitaker, Jr. of Coloma, and two sisters, Lorie (Billy) Stroud and Kellie Smith both of Coloma.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Bailey and Mason O'Neal of Coloma, Bethany Rose of Coloma, Aaliyah Champion of Coloma, Emma Roemer of St. Joseph and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister Sharon Eaves and his father Alfred B. Champion, Sr.
