Carol was born March 26, 1941 in Benton Harbor, MI to Raymond & Jeanette (Flynn) Hartman. She graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1959, and on October 17, 1959, she married Ronald Taylor. They remained devoted to each other for 57 years until Ron’s death in 2016. After working at Southern Michigan Cold Storage for over 30 years, Carol retired in 2008 and proceeded to focus her time and endless energy on the most important things in her life; her family, her faith, and her love of Notre Dame. Her passions included ushering at Notre Dame sporting events, volunteering at Hesston Steam Museum with her husband Ron, serving the Saints John and Bernard Parish as a Eucharistic Minister and in many other volunteer roles, and spoiling and loving on her grandchildren. Carol was well known for her beautiful hand-made rosaries from Job’s Tears that she grew in her garden and shared world-wide through various Catholic ministries. Many of her rosaries were given to troops deployed overseas. Everyone in Carol’s life experienced her generosity and kindness. She had an infectious smile, and when she did not approve of something, her famous “Carol eye roll”. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and follower of Christ.

Carol is survived by her sons, Scott (Cindie) Taylor, Brett (Cathleen) Taylor, and Jeff (Shelley) Taylor; her grandchildren, Adam, Noel, Jake, Cole, and Grey Taylor, Annamaria (Parker) McLean, Aimee Page, Sidnee (Chris) Sayers, Heather (Eric) Graves, Monica (Mark) Markilllie, and Sam, Noah, and Micah Hanau; and great grandchildren, Layla and Taylor Page, Gabrielle, Christopher, and Alexander Sayers, Jack and Elsie Markillie, and Kaden Graves; sister Sharon Sharai; brother Ron Hartman; brother-in-law Steve Taylor, and many special nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
