Carol Joy Hauch Obituary

Carol Joy Hauch, 82 of Bainbridge Center passed away at Woodland Terrace of Paw Paw Lake on July 30, 2021.

She was born on August 9, 1938 to the late Theodore and June (Bart) Latislaw. She graduated from Eau Claire High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1957 and graduated from Twin City Business College in 1963. In high school she started dating Gerald R. Hauch and they were married June 24, 1963. Together they enjoyed life for 58 years and as Carol would say, there's never a dull moment with Jerry.

Soon after high school, Carol began her career as a secretary at Whirlpool. While continuing to work, she returned to college and received a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. Carol loved the challenges of advancing her career to a computer analyst. Retiring after 42 years, she continued as a consultant for Whirlpool.

Like with work, Carol also took great pride in their home which they designed and built together. Enjoying the wild life or turkeys, deer and many varieties of birds visiting the feeders. Carol also enjoyed her beautiful flower beds and wonderful vegetable garden, making sure everything was canned to enjoy all winter. She would ride in bicycle tours and play golf but most of all, she liked snow skiing and hiking on their many adventured to Aspen, Colo. and Northern Michigan. She enjoyed attending concerts of many great bands like the Eagles and Rolling Stones, going to NASCAR races at Michigan Speedway cheering on Bill Elliot, watching college sports, especially the Notre Dame Irish and volunteering to usher at the Mendel Center and Andrews University. Even with Parkinsons, Carol was so proud to be part of The Mackinaw Bridge Five Mile Walk.

She is survived by her husband Gerald R. Hauch; sisters Shirley (Patrick) Poziwilko of Coloma and Barbara Weir of Phoenix, Ariz. and a special cat Missy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Terrace and Caring Circle Hospice for the great care Carol received. Thank you to Cindy Molter for her help these past few years and everyone who helped keep Carol in her home.
