Doris Miller

Doris Miller, 83, of Stevensville, MI passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at West Woods (formerly Jordan’s Care Center) in Bridgman, MI. She left us peacefully to be an angel of God following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Church St., Baroda, MI with Rev. Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ.  Doris was born July 14, 1931 in Dover, OH to Clarence & Maude (Border) Stucky. She graduated from Dover High School and on March 11, 1951 she married Paul Miller her first grade sweetheart in Dover, OH. Doris and her husband were the owners of the Golden Dolphin Hallmark Gift Shop in Stevensville for 18 years. Doris was also the church secretary for Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in St. Joseph for the late pastor Curt Runkel. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ Baroda where she was extremely active with women’s fellowship and the soup kitchen ministry.

 Doris is survived by her husband Paul Miller of Stevensville; children Dick (Deb) Miller of Angola, IN., Shirley (Greg) Romszewicz of Stevensville, Gail (Bob) Miller-McKee of Berrien Springs, and John (Kathryn) Miller of Stevensville; ten grandchildren Troy, Jamie, Tia, Scott, Jeff, Sarah, Paul, Adam, Mark and Erica; seven great grandchildren; sisters Verna Ball of Sherrodsville, OH and Linda Stoyanovich of Uhrichsville, OH. Doris was preceded in death by her parents.
