Lela M. Curtis, 91of Watervliet, passed away Aug 6 in High Point, NC.

Services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 12 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Lela was born March 29, 1923 in Agassiz, Minn to Charles and Lydia Minzel. She was a member of the Literary Guild of Watervliet. She was an avid baker of coffee cakes also making jam for everyone. She loved to paint which she took up later in life and often commented on how she and her husband Robert built their home of over 60 years stick by stick. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Violet Schenzel and Lorraine Sherrett, along with two brothers Ranard and Joel Minzel.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (Doug) Geisler of Bridgman, Deborah Bartz and James Petersen of Julian, N.C., and Christine Harrington of Iron Mountain, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Meyer, Matthew (Tomomi) Geisler, Adam (Anna Coyle) Geisler, Nathan (Carrie Berger) Geisler, Jarrod Bartz, Joel (Erika) Bartz, Joshua (Rachelle) Bartz, and Christian Harrington; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers Merlin and Orin (Karen) Minzel of Minn; and two special nieces, Sharie Johnson and Sandy Livgard.
