Philip Lomonaco Obituary

Phil was born on October 17, 1928, to Anna (Marsala) and Anthony Lomonaco. Phil lived his whole life in Hagar Township. He graduated from Benton Harbor HS in 1947. From 1954 to 1956 he served in the Army spending one year in So. Korea as a Squad Leader in the Antiaircraft Division.

In 1965 he married Barbara Ann Kerlikowske and they lived for 56 years on Maple Lane. With that union they had one son David.

Phil worked at Clark Equipment for 30 years. Phil loved, when he was younger, to hunt and fish with his friends and sometimes just fishing with his wife. He had great memories of the hunting trips to Colorado and fishing trips to Canada. Phil liked to go camping and had some great times. Phil lived on 2 acres of which most of it was lawn and trees. In his younger years he enjoyed the work but that slowly faded as he got older. He did for years have a vegetable garden which was a joy for him. Phil and his wife traveled very little. He did enjoy the trips with the North Berrien Senior Center and the many new friends he made and enjoyed. Phil enjoyed 6 days a week having morning coffee with some great guys at Coloma’s McDonalds. In his 56 years of marriage there were 4 dogs in his life, Molly was a Britney Spaniel, Mandy, Katie, Chelsea were English Springer Spaniels. Of all Chelsea was his favorite and she lived for just over 16 years.

Preceding Phil in death were his parents and siblings Joseph, Paul, Mary & Rose. Phil leaves behind his wife and son.

Per Phil’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Memorials may be made to SS.
