Robert Ingraham

Robert Ingraham, 86, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Grace of Douglas in Douglas, MI.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Robert was born March 15, 1928 in Benton Harbor, MI to Dawson & Irene (Oberton) Ingraham. He served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On August 14, 1954 he married Nancy Ketelhut at the Peace Temple in Benton Harbor. Robert worked for Whirlpool as a Machine Operator for over 40 years and retired in 1988. Robert was a life Long Member of the Benton Harbor Peace Temple and the Benton Harbor VFW. As a life member of the Travel Trailer Club of the Midwest he enjoyed camping. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, bowling, dancing, gardening and being part of the Benton Harbor Football Chain Gang under Herb Quade.

Robert is survived by his daughter Barbara (Tom) Strzyzykowski of Benton Harbor; daughter-in-law Jo Ann Ingraham of St. Joseph; grandchildren Benjamin (Kellie) Ingraham, Carrie (Kenny) Tobias, Nicole (Daniel) Mills, Peter (Jacqueline) Strzyzykowski and Amy (Ryan) Friedburg; great grandchildren Chloe, Bradley, Aribel and Maxwell Mills, McKenna, Kerrigan Ingraham, and Avery Strzyzykowski; sister-in-law Marilla Ingraham; nieces & nephews Phyllis (Greg) Grimes, Cynthia (Rudy) Gilson, Ron (Mary) Block, Dave (Suzanne) Block, and Kathy Tidey. Robert was preceded in death by his parents wife Nancy in 2000, son Howard in 1988, grandson Brian Strzyzykowski in 1980 and brother Don in 2002.
