Earl William Krieger

 

Earl Krieger, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Appledorn Living Center in Holland, MI.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph, MI, with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Music Department.  Earl was born April 19, 1923 in Bainbridge Township, MI to Wallace & Matilda (Warskow) Krieger. Earl graduated from Coloma High School. He served his county in the United States Army Air Corps. from 1943 until 1946. On May 14, 1949 he married Irene Rochau in Stevensville, MI. Earl worked for Sears for 29 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post 568, VFW 1137, and the Fruit Belt Chorus. Earl was also on the Board of the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center and involved with the Lest We Forget Veterans Group and 8th Air Force Memorial Society.

 Earl is survived by his wife Irene Krieger of Holland; sons David (Loretta Sue) Krieger of Holland, MI and Douglas (Sue Weilgopolan) Krieger of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren Todd Krieger and Cailley Krieger; and sister Alice Polishuk of St. Joseph. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce Locker and brother Armin Krieger.
