Dixie was born November 11, 1925 in Alamo, Tennessee to Frederick & Naomi (King) Laman. She graduated from Caruthersville High School in Missouri. After moving to Southwest Michigan, Dixie met her future husband Rudy Roberts at Shadowland Ballroom, and they were married March 13, 1948 in Benton Harbor. As a young lady, she was employed at 1900 Corporation. She then gained employment at Benton Harbor Malleable for several years before beginning her long career with St. Joseph Savings & Loan at the Stevensville branch, retiring as Branch Manager. After Rudy’s passing on September 23, 1978, Dixie met Edward F. Kreiger, and they were married in 1982. Dixie was a long-time member of Crystal Springs Church of God where she sang in the choir and served as treasurer. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens around the house, turning her yard into a show place. Dixie also enjoyed reading, cooking and baking and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grand & great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dixie is survived by her children-Kathie (John) Stancik of St. Joseph, Becky (Denny) Patzer of Kalamazoo, Mark (Jill) Roberts of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren-Heidi (Brian) Leder, Holly (Ed) Annen, Annie (Andy) Post, Libby (Dave) Barksdale, Kim (Chris) Maffin, Tiffany (Teddy) Strawbridge & Brooke Roberts; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Dixie was preceded in death by her first husband Rudy, her second husband Edward on February 15, 1996, by two sisters-Dorothy Klump & Doris Burns, and a sister-in-law Ella Rose Tidey.
