The couple owned a fruit farm and Stubby’s meat processing business in Benton Harbor where they raised their four children. Betty loved flowers and gardening. She also liked to bake and canned many of the fruits they grew. She and Stanley had a cabin in Baldwin that they built and enjoyed spending time there.
