Ronnie Ray Scott Obituary

Ronnie Ray Scott, 70, of Buchanan, formerly St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

A celebration of life gathering will be held starting at 2pm on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at North Lake Park Pavilion, 3600 Grand Mere Rd., Stevensville.

Ronnie was born on October 29, 1955, to John and Alta (Prince) Scott in Benton Harbor. Professionally, he dedicated many years at Skidmore in Benton Harbor and Bendix of St. Joseph.

Outside of work, Ronnie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep appreciation for music and loved spending time playing the guitar. Whether casting a line while fishing or heading into the woods to hunt, he was an avid outdoorsman. Above all else, Ronnie cherished his family. He dearly loved his daughters, and nothing brought him greater pride or happiness than the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Amanda Pohyba of Stevensville and Emily (Adam) Hercik of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Owen (Aliyah Ethridge) Pohyba, Tessa Pohyba, Addie Hercik, Piper Hercik and siblings, Clyde, Annabelle, John, Dale, twin sister, Connie and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alta Scott; sister, Rosemary and beloved dog, Buckey.
