Sandra K. Beavers Obituary

Sandy was born into a farm family in Bainbridge Township. It was hard work and she loved it.

Animals were a huge part of her life. As a teenager she was given a horse, “Babe”. In the 1950’s, there was no local 4H club for horses. She was her own horse community. Later in life she helped Animal Aid adopt out dogs.

After graduating from Benton Habor, Class of 1957, she attended Benton Harbor Community College. She would eventually become a beautician and would stay one for over 60 years.

She and her husband Irv were married in 1961 and celebrated over 50 years before his death in 2012. They loved taking the train west to the Nation Parks.

After a short illness, returning home with hospice care, to the house she was raised in. Just inches from her childhood bedroom, she passed away, to go be with Jesus. Being born again as a young adult, she accepted Jesus for her complete salvation.

Leaving the house for the last time, taken down the front porch where as a child, she had a swing. She would swing countless hours on the front porch. A place and a life she enjoyed.

There will be a private burial at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Kathy Prillwitz, her husband Irv and her brother Jack Vance.

Sandy is survived by her son Scott, sister-in-law Dian and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
