Shelley Marie (Deitrich) Barberino Obituary

Shelley Marie (Deitrich) Barberino 63, of St. Joseph, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday August 2, 2026.

Born on August 19, 1962, Shelley lived her life as an open heart and listening ear for anyone who needed it. She believed that her family was very special and was always happy to get to see them. Those who knew her well will miss the way she could make an ordinary visit something to remember.

Shelley was a proud grandparent to Rocky Barberino and Roman Barberino. She leaves behind three sons, PJ (Kim) Barberino (41), Anthony (Crystal) Barberino (36), and David Barberino (33), along with her parents James & Mary Jo Deitrich, her cherished siblings Daniel (Diana) Deitrich, Sr. Stanley (Kim) Deitrich, Phillip (Susan) Deitrich, Zeb (Stacy) Deitrich, her only sister, Karen (Nate) Matthews; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Shelley was born in South Bend, Indiana and after moving to St. Joseph, she graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1980. Shelley found joy in writing, singing, and helping others. Above all, Shelley will be remembered for always seeing the good in others, her laughter, her sense of humor, her strong faith in God throughout her life and leaving behind three boys that she was always proud of.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 10, 2026 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Bob Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Church.
