25 arrests made in Operation Clean Sweep II

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety is working diligently to form collaborations with other agencies in order to assist in making Benton Harbor a safer community. On Tuesday February 18, 2014, BHDPS conducted another warrant sweep for persons with outstanding arrest warrants.  Deputy Director Dan McGinnis says, “Often times there are victims attached to these offenses and they deserve closure to their cases.  When an offender remains at large, the victim doesn’t receive the justice they deserve.”  As a resulted of this initiative, 25 persons were apprehending which cleared 28 outstanding arrests warrants. The effort was a multi-agency effort including BHDPS, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, the Michigan State Police, and the Michigan Department of Corrections and the FBI Violent Crime Task Force.  We want to thank all of the officers from the assisting agencies who participated. The breakdown of warrants is 7 felony warrants, 12 misdemeanor warrants, 7 criminal bench warrants, and 2 child support warrants.
