Assault and Possible Homicide Investigation has occurred on Friday, Jan 23 2015
On 1-23-15, the Bridgman Police Dept. was dispatched to the West Woods of Bridgman Nursing Home in regards to an alleged assault. Officers arrived along with Medic-1 Ambulance & found that one of the patients had been allegedly been assaulted by another patient. The victim; FLOYD PERHAM, 83yrs. old sustained a head injury after being shoved to the ground & was conscious during the initial investigation. PERHAM was transported to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph for treatment & was subsequently admitted.
The Bridgman Police Dept. was notified today (1-26-15) that PERHAM had died on 1-25-15 while at Lakeland Hospital from head injuries.
The investigation is continuing & no information will be released in regards to the possible suspect at this time. Once the investigation is complete, ALL information will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review in regards to any possible charges.
