This is D/Sgt. Fred Laesch of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department for Crime Stoppers.  The crime of the week comes from the files of the Niles City Police Department.

On January 15, 2014 and January 17, 2014 during the afternoon hours, unknown suspects broke into two vehicles at the YMCA located at 905 N. Front St., Niles City and at Lakeland Hospital located 31 N. St. Joseph St., Niles City.  Both vehicles were damaged by unknown suspects smashing out the side windows and stealing purses from both vehicles.  The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Lumina type passenger car. 

Crime Stoppers wants the person or persons responsible for this larceny and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest.  Crime Stoppers also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.
