Head-on collission in Watervliet leaves serious injuries

A serious injury accident on M140 south of Dwight Boyer Road in Watervliet Township

Officers responded to a priority call of a serious injury accident on M140 south of Dwight Boyer Road in Watervliet Township.

A 2003 Toyota passenger car was traveling north on M140.  The driver of the vehicle was Tamara Garca (40) and the front passenger was Brian Jackson (37).  Both individuals were from Holland. 

According to the passenger, the driver attempted to pick up an item from the floor and drove into the path of a south bound commercial motor vehicle.  Both vehicles collided.

Garca was taken to Lakeland Hospital for serious injuries. The south bound vehicle was an International truck driven by Janes Mosier (54) of Dowagiac. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Berrien County Accident Investigation Team was called.  M140 was blocked with traffic being detoured.  The accident remains under investigation. For more information contact Deputy Puffer, 983-7111 ext. 7039  7-3pm
