Lake Michigan College to host up to 50 colleges and universities at College Night event on Sept. 14

Representatives from up to 50 colleges, universities, trade schools, and branches of the military will be at College Night, hosted by Lake Michigan College. This year, the annual event takes place Monday, Sept. 14, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the LMC Mendel Center Grand Upton Hall.

College Night is for high school students and their parents who are exploring the college selection process. Adults considering attending college and students planning to transfer are also encouraged to attend.

The event is free, and students should register for a barcode at www.lakemichigancollege.edu/collegenight before attending. During the fair, colleges will scan barcodes to send more information about their schools. The day after the fair, attendees will receive a report with information about those colleges.

According to Eric Wignall, Lake Michigan College Director of Admissions & Recruitment, College Night is an important and convenient way for area students and families to begin or continue their college search process.

"Choosing a college is one of the biggest financial decisions a family will make, and most families make it with less information than they'd like. College Night changes that," said Wignall. "It puts nearly 50 colleges in one room so students and parents can talk face-to-face with admissions staff about cost, majors, and campus life, all in one night. And it's free."

LMC staff will lead two financial aid information sessions at 6:30 and 7 p.m. Topics include various financial aid options and tips for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2027-2028 academic year.
