Southwest Michigan Regional Airport Announces Fly-In Event
The Southwest Michigan Regional Airport (KBEH) will host a community Fly-In event on Saturday, Oct. 4, welcoming aviation enthusiasts, families, and area residents to a full day of activities and displays. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the airport, located at 1123 Territorial Road in Benton Harbor.
The Fly-In will showcase aviation competitions such as a spot landing challenge and a flour bag target drop, alongside a motorcycle/car show that celebrates the community. Visitors can take aircraft rides, watch the competitions, and explore a wide variety of motorcycles, cars, and planes on display. Exhibitor booths and aviation seminars will round out the day’s activities. Non-profits, businesses or vendors interested in hosting a booth can reserve a spot by emailing director@swmiairport.com.

Food and drinks will be available on site for a donation, and admission to the event is free. Additional contributions are welcomed to help support future community programming and airport initiatives, including aircraft rides, meals, and competitions.
“We’re thrilled to bring together aviation and local culture in a way that’s fun and accessible for everyone,” said Shannon Christy, airport director. “Whether you’re flying in or driving over, we look forward to seeing you at the airport.”
Communications Coordinator Nicholas Gunn said the Fly-In is a chance for the public to connect with the airport in a meaningful way. “This event is about more than aviation, but it’s about showing how the airport can serve as a hub for community growth, connection, and opportunity in a fun way,” Gunn said.
The airport is encouraging residents to take part in the day’s activities, which are designed to showcase both aviation and local culture while creating a family-friendly space for the community to come together.
