STAFF OF DR. KASEWURM’S PROFESSIONAL HEARING SERVICES (PHS) ATTENDS EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATIONAL EXPO

The staff at PHS, along with 3,400 professionals from around the world, recently returned from an invigorating educational expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.  During this four day event, they received educational information on new technology, the patient experience and business strategies.

A highlight of the meeting was information on the new hearing aids that are compatible with iPhones, iPads, and any other i products.  This technology allows hearing aid wearers to sync their aids to iPhones, enabling them to fully customize their hearing to the environments that they frequent most often.  The expo provided a small glimpse into this revolutionary new  technology that will be available in early spring.

The professionals had the privilege of listening to and learning from some of the most influential and successful speakers, from former U.S. Presidents to world renowned authors and business leaders.  Business legend Donald Trump shared his insights on success in the business world and discussed the important role that passion plays in success. "When you love what you do, you don't really have to work so hard because you don't consider it work," Trump contended.

President Clinton brought day two to a close with his inspiration message on global cooperation and empowering people.  "We all play a role in taking care of our world ... you don't have to be a millionaire to help” said Clinton.  President Clinton has been on several mission trips with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids to those in need around the world.  PHS also supports the Foundation by donating part of every hearing aid sale to the cause and Dr. Kasewurm participated in a mission to Peru in July of this year, where she helped fit over 2000 children and adults with hearing aids.

President George W. Bush provided a dynamic end to the expo sharing his insights into topics from leadership and parenting, to dealing with crisis and his post-presidency charitable work in Africa.     President Bush’s likeability and charm was evident when he recognized Dr. Kasewurm from his visit to Economic Club of Southwest Michigan in 2009.

As a leader in the field of audiology, Dr. Gyl Kasewurm was also a presenter at the expo.  Her presentation was a follow up to a prior presentation by best-selling author Dan Ariely.
