The Therapeutic Equestrian Center (TEC) is offering Volunteer Trainings

The Therapeutic Equestrian Center is seeking volunteers to assist with their programs.  TEC has both weekly and occasional volunteer opportunities available.  Anyone interested can sign up for the one or both of the upcoming volunteer trainings.

 

Volunteer Trainings will be offered before the start of the Summer Session for anyone age 14 and up:

 

· Volunteer Training Part 1 on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm– Get the opportunity to learn about TEC, therapeutic riding, and available volunteer opportunities. New volunteers are encouraged to attend.

 

· Volunteer Training Part 2 on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm – Take advantage of hands on training for those who want to help with TEC’s therapeutic riding lessons as Sidewalkers and/or Leaders.

 

Both trainings will be held at the TEC barn located at 615 N. M-140 in Watervliet, MI.

TEC’s services the special need communities of Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. But riders are not the only ones who benefit. “The experience I have had as a volunteer has been so positive, the people here are so amazing in what they do to help others” said, Sue Ann S. a fellow TEC volunteer.

 

 

The Therapeutic Equestrian Center (TEC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 that was founded in 2005. TEC provides year-round therapeutic horseback riding as well as other equine assisted activities to individuals with special needs. TEC collaborates with Blossomland Learning Center, a local school, to provide Saddle STARS, a school based program using horses as a theme. These programs are possible because of TEC’s team of dedicated volunteers.
