Trinity Lutheran School Students Raise Money for Sudan
Trinity Lutheran Church St. Joseph’s Pastor, Michael Roth, was presented with a check from students of Trinity Lutheran School today. The students raised $983.81 through a week long coin war involving Trinity School students ranging from pre-school to 8th grade. For five minutes before class began each morning for one week straight, children put change in buckets in their home room. Students could take points away from other classes on their floor by running to another bucket in that five minutes and putting bills in, which deducts the coin amount of the bill for that bucket.
The money was raised to help with Pastor Roth’s trip to Sudan, Africa next month. Pastor Roth is traveling to the Sudan in mid March of 2015 to teach a class to Seminary students. Pastor Roth had shared with the students of Trinity that every day items like pens, paper and notebooks are a rarity in Sudan, so the students set to the task of raising funds to help purchase those items for the Sudanese Seminarian students.
