This is D/Sgt. Fred Laesch of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department for Crime Stoppers. The crime of the week comes from the files of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
On January 12, 2014 at approximately 4:47 AM, an unknown suspect walked into the Wal-Mart store 2707 S. 11th St., Niles Twp. and proceeded to the apparel section where the suspect started a fire. The unknown suspect then proceeded to the electronics department, smashing a display case and stealing numerous electronic items. The suspect fled out the front door and left in newer model dark colored four door sedan. The suspect appears to be a white male, thin build, wearing brown pants and a dark colored shirt. The suspect was also wearing a mask.
Crime Stoppers wants the person or persons responsible for this arson and larceny and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest. Crime Stoppers also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.
