Eva Uhrik, 94, of Stevensville, MI passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Born June 12, 1932, in Eau Claire, Michigan, to Loyd and Mildred (Grannell) Krugh.
She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1951 and attended Benton Harbor Community College for two years, earning an Associate Degree. She married Ronald Uhrik on May 8, 1954.
She continued her education at Western Michigan University, earning her Bachelors in 1969 and her Masters in 1972. She was also a member of Alpha Beta Epsilon Sorority.
She began her teaching career at Hathaway School in Bridgman and later taught in the Lakeshore Public Schools until her retirement in 1989. In 1982, she received the R. James Johnson Educator Award from Lakeshore Public Schools, an honor voted on by the staff.
She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevensville, where she was also a member of Ladies Aid, Deaconess, Owls, and Coordinator for Sunday School.
She is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Debby) Uhrik and Robert Uhrik; four grandchildren, Teather Uhrik, Jason (Jessica) Uhrik, Andrew Uhrik, and Austin Uhrik; six great-grandchildren, Brennen Uhrik, Zachary Uhrik, Tyler Uhrik, Emma Uhrik, Jackson Uhrik and Gaberial Uhrik; sisters-in-law, Sandra Krugh as well as several nieces, nephews, and special friends Kathy Zwar and Gayle Gebhard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Uhrik, in 2004; her parents; two brothers, Donald Krugh and Charles Krugh; sister-in-law Nancy Krugh-Cooley and a niece, Debra Krugh.
