Before the ribbon is cut and the doors officially open, Southwest Michigan has an opportunity to be among the very first to experience Buchanan's newest event destination.
On Friday, July 24, The Loading Dock will welcome the public for a special preview event featuring Gut Instinct Improv, the wildly unpredictable improv comedy troupe known for turning audience suggestions into outrageous, unscripted comedy. The performance serves as the venue's soft opening—giving guests an exclusive first look at the space just one night before The Loading Dock's official Grand Opening celebration.
Gut Instinct Improv has built a loyal following in Southwest Michigan with its blend of improvisational comedy, audience participation and hilarious challenges that ensure no two performances are ever the same. Every show is created in the moment, making each audience part of the experience.
The evening also gives attendees the unique opportunity to see the venue before the crowds of Grand Opening weekend, offering an intimate preview of The Loading Dock's flexible event spaces, bar and dining experience.
"This is our chance to welcome the community before the official celebration," said Kate Gassman, Business Manager of The Loading Dock. "We wanted the first public event to be fun, memorable and interactive while giving people the opportunity to experience our food, drinks and the atmosphere we've worked so hard to create."

Gut Instinct plans a return show for Halloween on October 30th at The Loading Dock, billing it as a hilarious “torture” show that includes games like “Chubby Bunny” with vinegar-soaked marshmallows while performing.
