Janet Lyn Mattox Obituary

Janet Lyn Mattox, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Stevensville, surrounded by her devoted family.

Janet was born to Robert and Irene (Glossenger) Fellner, July 11, 1951, in Three Oaks, Michigan. After graduating high school, Janet went on to marry the love of her life, Robert E. Mattox, Jr., on February 7, 1981.

 

Janet’s life centered on family. She devoted her life to her children and community, participating yearly in the school booster club. Her tireless dedication ensured that local youth always had the resources and encouragement they needed to thrive. Whether organizing fundraisers or cheering from the sidelines, her warmth and community spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

 

Janet was a longtime Whirlpool Corp. employee, dedicating years of knowledge and helped build the company’s legacy, retiring in 2005.

 

Janet is survived by her children – Emily (Scott) Spearritt and Matthew (Julie) Mattox; grandchildren – Benjamin and Olivia Spearritt and, Scottlyn Mattox; and siblings – Bobby Fellner and Annette Fellner.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents – Robert and Irene Fellner; husband – Robert E. Mattox, Sr.; and sisters – Vickie Fellner and Doreen Hammermeister.
