Eleanor Dorothy Robinson Obituary
Eleanor Dorothy Robinson, lovingly known as "Ellie”, was born on February 24,
1936, in Niles, Michigan. She grew up in Pokagon/Benton Harbor in Southwest Michigan and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1954.
Ellie was a wonderful mother to Charna Freehan and Randy Robinson, and a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is remembered for her silly sense of humor, always having time to support a family member or friend who needed a compassionate ear or physical help. A born care-giver, she spent countless hours taking care of others and animals who needed her. She was known for her skills as a seamstress and creative solutions; her quick thinking was a gift to those who asked. Dedicated to her Christian faith, and it showed with all that she did in her life.
Ellie leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, and love, shared not only with her family but also with the many friends whose lives she touched. She was one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ellie wanted her friends and family to visit with each other, share coffee, tea and some companionship when she passed. Per her request, there will be no funeral services held.
Instead, she would appreciate those that knew her to donate to the Michigan chapter of ASPCA to help care for and protect dogs and cats who deserve good homes.
